FAN Take is a series that highlights trending events, issues, and decisions in the world of sports and analyzes how they may or may not factor into the Fan Controlled Football League. We would love to hear your feedback, so let us know what you think about each FAN Take!
Last March, the CrossFit Games took a page out of the FCFL playbook and allowed their fans to vote on which final workout the athletes faced in a qualifier in Iceland. Dave Castro, the director of the CrossFit Games, gave fans three possible options to choose from that would end up being the final leg of a five-workout series determining which athletes moved forward to Regionals.
The result? These CrossFit Games shattered its streaming record on Facebook with more than 1 million viewers and upwards of 300,000 comments! So, if you are looking for proof of fans wanting their sports to be more engaging, look no further. But we already knew that!
The Fan Controlled Football League will allow fans to make vital voting decisions as well, only our fans will make them on a regular basis. In fact, fans will vote on virtually every aspect of our league including league rules, team names, team logos, coaching decisions, play calling decisions, which players to draft, and more!
Our league is being built for this type of engagement! We are breaking down the barriers of city-based teams and optimizing the league for the digital fan. This means that no matter where you might be located on the globe, you can participate just like if you were in the stadium. All of our games will be streamed live on our Twitch page, and we are including all kinds of new and innovative technology that will make you feel a part of the action.
It all starts with your vote, which is why we need your input and participation! In the FCFL which voting decision do you think is the most important?
a. Voting on play calling during games
b. Drafting the players on the team
c. Creating and voting on league rules
Power To The FANS!
