Popular video gaming brand, Xbox has been creative in ways they’ve included their customers and biggest fans in their decision making processes. The idea was to turn their customers into entrepreneurs. A video campaign released around Xbox’s innovative Design Lab has won an award at the recent Cannes Lions advertising awards.
Xbox Design Labs is the first online customization program Xbox has ever launched. It offers more than 8 million different color combinations to choose from, so customers can make the new Xbox Wireless Controllers their very own. Additionally, the controllers feature enhanced comfort and feel with textured grip, improved wireless range, and Bluetooth technology for easier wireless connectivity to Windows 10 PC devices.
Once a customer has created a design, they can name and claim that design, which then allows others to actually buy their design – and they earn money for it! The more their design sells, the more that individual earns. In fact, the top earner made $1131 and controller sales grew by 350%!
We at the FCFL love this idea and couldn’t be happier to see business models that put fans in the driver seat!
